So you’ve got questions…

Is Amity Ink “by appointment only”?

Generally speaking, yes. Our tattoo artists and brow artists are strictly by appointment only and do not accept walk-ins at this time. Sometimes, our piercers will have openings for walk-ins, however we always suggest making an appointment to ensure your time slot is reserved or in case we need to contact you ahead of time. Can we book an appointment over the phone?

Our online scheduler is NIFTY! Seriously, it helps keep us organized and makes sure we are prepared for your arrival. We highly recommend booking an appointment online. If, however, you are having trouble with our online scheduler, please give us a call at 419-740-0381 and we can talk you through it!

Why are consultations required for new tattoos?

We get asked this a lot. (This is the FAQ page, after all.) Your new tattoo should be unique to you! Not something off a wall, not an image copied from the internet, but designed just for you. Even if you’ve put lots of thought into your idea, it’s always helpful to have a tattoo artist’s professional input on the design and discuss the the nitty gritty details. Since tattoos can be an expensive investment, we want to make sure you’re comfortable with one of our artists and their work, and that you’re getting the best version of your idea. Though it might mean you aren’t getting the tattoo right away, we feel it’s worth the wait for a custom, high-quality tattoo.

How do I take care of my new body art?

You shouldn’t be burdened with having to spend additional time and money on aftercare products once you leave our studio. At Amity Ink, we prioritize the health and happy healing of your new body art. So, we provide every client with everything you need to properly care for your tattoo, piercing, or brows. Really! We’ll always make sure your artist thoroughly instructs you exactly how to care for your body art and make sure all your questions are answered before we part ways.

My healed tattoo looks different than it did when it was new. What happened?

This is a complex question with no single, obvious answer. Let’s first assume that you properly cared for your fresh tattoo by following our tattoo aftercare instructions, and you didn’t have any complications. Every individual has a unique set of physical traits that respond differently to getting tattooed: things like age, skin pigmentation, elasticity, body shape, underlying medical conditions, substance use, and other environmental/genetic traits! All of those attributes can sometimes have a profound impact on a tattoo, including its definition, vibrancy, and longevity. Our artists take as many of those factors into consideration when executing a quality tattoo, but we can’t always be sure how one’s body may respond to the tattoo once it’s completed. If there are areas of your healed tattoo that look less defined than the rest, it’s possible your tattoo needs touched up. You can schedule a new consultation with your Amity artist to discuss whether or not your healed tattoo would benefit from a touch-up. Quick touch-ups are complimentary* if an Amity artist gave you the original, unaltered tattoo - unless we observe obvious signs of neglect, in which case, you may be charged a standard rate to fix any damaged areas.

*As per our studio’s policy, we do not offer complimentary touch-ups on hands, feet, and heads.

What documentation do I need to bring?

Ah! Another important question!

If you’re an adult (18 years or older) getting a service at Amity, you will need to provide: your physical card of your valid State ID (Driver’s license or NDL) or Government ID.
(Photos/photocopies not accepted!)

If you’re the guardian of a minor client, you will need to provide:
- your physical card of your valid State ID (Driver’s license or NDL) or Government ID. (Photos/photocopies not accepted!)
-
minor client’s birth certificate or copy. (custody/adoption papers also required in some cases)
-
a physical form of valid photo ID for the minor. i.e. State ID, Student ID, Kids Safety ID, Passport, etc. Please message us if you have any questions.

No exceptions! You may be charged a cancellation fee if proper documentation is not provided.

Why such the obsession with Jaws?

Well, it’s the greatest film ever made, for one. Sharks? Also awesome. Does it make sense to have a sunny, 1970’s-inspired body art studio in Ohio - where the closest ocean is 500 miles away? It sure does. See? Now you’re on board…
