For a quick Berona change (because we’ve been doing a lot of that lately) Ive decided to change the pace a bit and work on something I like to call “American Stickman!”
Without getting too into it, it is a very simple concept involving one of my all time favorite genre…Military VS Giant Monster!!! The Military base is located on a remote island, Colossal Island! There, our highly trained and equip soldiers fight off waves of attacking monsters!

There are several avenues Anthony and I are approaching this idea with. The first is something as simple as a sketchbook. There we will have all the different type of monsters and branches of the military they will be facing.
Second, is our favorite and of coarse tougher of the two…a game app! We have a good start into the process but since we are not programmers, we will be handing it off to some capable hands and seeing if we can get some magic!

The whole idea started off with the phrase, “I cant even draw a stick man.” Which, by the way, we hear a LOT! One thing lead to another and before we knew it, we came up with our “Paper Soldiers” concept. That soon lead to American Stickman. On the island, we have all the major powers of WWII, we have America, Germany, Britain, France, Japan and so on. BUT it is the American who is being played by our friend the stick man. The other nations are simple in design but the stick man design is unique to the American Soldier.
At one point I was leaning towards the name “Island of 1953” giving you a solid look into the time period of the events. As Ive said before, its the great feel of being attacked at the drive in movie, or the scientist on the black and white screen dropping the vile with the brain from planet X! Its old school tanks lining up on the coastline blasting away as the beast approaches. These are all the things that have and always will kick start my imagination.

I’m trying to keep the look and feel of the idea loose and gritty…at least for now. Bold colors and sketchy lines remaining in the background. My first concern was if the stick man would work well in the same scene as one of the other nation’s soldiers. I played around with it for a day or so and found that it would work well enough.
This has been a fun project that has aloud me to break away from other projects that I feel as though we “have to” finish. Its something that has not been tainted with outside hands or influences and because of this, it still remains fun to continue working on.
I will try to keep you posted on the progress of this project and hopefully you will enjoy it every bit as much as we do!
