Were back! Had a great weekend and have a lot of great stories! Met a lot of great people and saw a lot of great stuff! I’m really not sure where to start, so I guess I will start wherever I want…because its my blog!
Anthony and I got there on Wednesday and set our table up. We had a table in artist alley as well as a spot with Archaia. It was an amazing amount of time it took to make it from one spot to the other. I kid you not, it could take almost 30 minutes to get from our table to our booth! It stunk too because there was so much cool stuff there and it always seemed like we were in a rush so we never really had time to slow down and take a look at all the goods. I guess it’s better that way because we would have ended up spending all of our money if we did see cool stuff.
We sold several posters, a few necklaces, some commissions and a ton of books! We even sold out of Cabbalu Tales! But the best part of it all was meeting the fans!!! There is nothing better then having someone come up to you and tell you their favorite part of a world that you created! And who would have thought the lanyards would have went over so well?!?! Not only did everyone want a lanyard, they wanted ALL of the buttons that went with them. We all seemed to have fun with it.
Both Anthony and I said, “Ok, we will each only buy ONE thing for ourselves when we leave.” So everyday we tried our best to narrow it down. This seemed WAY easier for Anthony then myself. He saw a statue by Sean “Cheeks” Galloway and knew right then that was what he wanted. Meanwhile, I was still wondering around aimlessly looking for something great…that one perfect thing! Then I found it. I have a thing for wind-up pocket watches, so when I saw the unique sphere shaped watch, I knew I had found what I wanted!!! However, I think it’s important to mention that I saw the watch on Wednesday and come Friday, I couldn’t remember where it saw it. Shut up! This place was freaking huge! You try finding a watch in a building that could hold four football fields!
Well, I made it my mission to find that damn watch, so everyday I would scout around looking for it…hell, I even had Anthony searching for it and he never saw it to begin with. And at last, I found the watch stand and at last….it was sold out. Damn it! Don’t shed any tears for me though, it wasnt long before I found something new! It was a Monsterpocalypse! Im a sucker for monsters and for board games…this was for me. Screw the watch, I wanted to destroy some buildings and blast my way to victory!
We met a guy that worked there and he said he would hook me up if I came back after closing. So on Sunday when everyone started shutting down, I headed to the Monsterpocalypse booth. I could find the guy and the register was already closed…ok so now you can shed a couple of tears I know I did. On the up side, when we returned to our table we found a couple of exclusive game pieces in our chairs. This would be great if WE HAD A GAME TO USE THEM WITH!!! So the guy must have come by when we were gone. I cant complain too much, he tried. There was just sooo much going on. Oh well, thanks stranger who we will never see again…you will always be the one that got away :)
At least Anthony got his statue…I hate you Anthony. He wouldn’t even let me play with it on the plane! We got there early on Sunday so we could atleast have some time to look around. It gave us some time to take a few pictures without being stared at like dorks by a hundred thousand people…so now I can post it here and only be stared at by a thousand of you.
