Ok, on one of the last posts I mentioned
that we were trying to put together a book for the SDCC full of short
stories. This has turned out to be quite a challenge! We
were shooting for around 6-10 stories. This will most likely be a total
of 6 stories. We have found ourselves putting more effort into the
stories than we first planned. The whole point was the book was to get
you a little bit closer to some of the characters in Berona. Whether it
was characters that we wanted to explore or characters that we got the
most emails about…we wanted to share some of their tales.
When we were working on Without Perfection it was originally a 6 page story but as we worked through it, it became a 10 page tale of awesomeness! Yes, I really like that one. Anyway, rather than us trying to cut it down to save time we said we would rather a great story, not just a good one. So that is kind of how we are handling all of the stories we will have time to finish for the book. I know thicker is better and because of this we are trying our best to fill this puppy.

We are only bringing 10 to SDCC. So it will be first come first serve. I know, you would think that 10 book isn’t very many to sell at a place with 160,000 people…we would think the same. It’s one of those things…you just never know. We might leave with 10 and come back with 9. Hopefully this is not the case. Hopefully we sell them all because the plan is to do two more volumes. If we sell out of Vol. 1 (not just the 10 but whatever we think justifies doing another) we will make another vol. We plan on having 3 volumes, each telling new short stories about the world of Berona. If those sell we have intentions on designing another hard back book to go along side of Berona’s War I: Feild Guide & II: Fight for Amity. So lets hope we sell these babies!

Again, this book is NOT for everyone. It will not be loaded with tons of pictures for your viewing satisfaction but filled with a playground for your imagination. One of the stories is down right grueling! Cooper asked me if he can get a little dark with one of the tales…and he indeed went dark. Hell, that man turned off all the lights on that one! Its called Senseless and it made me want to take a bath after I read it. Its pretty jacked up. But than there are some of the stories that made me laugh out loud but in all fairness, that’s not hard to do.
So keep your fingers crossed that this one makes it to the con…I know we are.
